Decourcy Island is an off-the-grid island approximately 16 kilometres southeast of Nanaimo and approximately 38 kilometres southwest of Vancouver. Neighboring Islands include Gabriola, Valdez, Mudge and Ruxton Islands. Decourcy Island is approximately 460 acres in size, with 186 lots, most of which are around 1 acre. It also has a 76 acre Pirates Cove Marine Park where you can dock your boat.
Because of its private boat access status, Decourcy has remained a quiet and community oriented island. There are no services on the island. There is, however, a fire hall with a fire truck and a volunteer fire department. There are also 2 seaplane flights a day from the South Airport in Vancouver, so it is a quick 15 minute flight to the dock on Decourcy Island.
